| Welcome! Combined, Chris and Wanda over have 35 years experience in the breed. We located in Raleigh,NC. My first great dane was purchased through a local newspaper advertisement. It was purchased with AKC papers and from Champion boodlines. I soon found out these were catch words to lure people to support this Back Yard Breeder that bred several breeds with many health problems. I trined Atticus in obedience unfortunatly he died young. My next dane was a boston merle colored pup named Shadowfax. She was a wonderful Dane for obedience. I became a trainer with a local club ,The High Point Obedience Club with the' goal of one day showing and finishing my own dog in conformation. In the 90's. I found Solomon, a black dane we rescused/purchased through a local paper they offered to trade for a car. He was my first dane to take a CGC title at 7 months old, he died at 6 years old. Moving to Raleigh, I met Pam Sarkel which had just co-bred a litter of brindle and fawn great danes. I purchased my first show prospect brindle male named Gunther (Ch Sheleea's Roping the Wind). I invested in handling classes, entered my first show, and never looked back! Pam Sarkel ,(Sarjack Great Dane), and Bill and Phyllis Lyon, (Lyonheart Great Danes) , gave me insight and support to succeed in the ring. Gunther completed his championship with a 5 point major and a 3 point major, taking breed, at two years old. Günther was professionally handled and ranked in the top 25 with one group 4, before retirng. In 2002 Savannah, (Windwood Savannah Gold v NTGWD), was giving to us by the Lyon's and was bred to Gunther. Savannah produced 2 International Champions, 3 AKC Champions, 1 European Champion and l AKC Performance tiitled Champion. . In 2007 one of her great grand pups finished his championship. We lost Savannah to Cancer at 10 1/2 years old in 2007. In 2004, my friends Raintree (Pam Deloria), Dixie (Lori Cornelius) and Sandra Fetters, (Erinwood) bred BIS Ch Erinwood Raintree Dixie's Legend "Tyler" to BIS, Ch KD Danes Southern Accent V Dixie "Tobi" producing a fawn litter. We purchased a lovely fawn boy named Elliott from that litter. Elliott ,(Ch Raintree Dixie's Patriot V WinterLochen Aero) is co-owned with Megan Fitzpatrick, (Aerodanes). Megan lived in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, at that time. Elliott finished with a 4 point major, from the 6-9 month class, later that year, taking a group 4 at 14 months. Megan and I formed a friendship , that would start our quest for the first Great Dane Club in North Carolina. Megan helped me gather together friends and local breeders in our area, to hold the clubs first meeting in March of 2004. The club is currently growing working toward AKC accredaition to support a Great Dane Specilaity in North Carolina. Our new addition, Reese, (Raintree Dixie's Sweet Iced Tea v WinterLochen ) entered our lives in November 2007. Her parents are (Ch KD Danes Southern Accent V Dixie,) "Tobi" x (Ch Elan Krisda Dixie Majic of Raintree ) "Magic".
